Neal,
Simple sugars (carbohydrates) are sugar,
maltose, fructose and substances that instantly turn into the glucose
and glycogen your body uses for energy and storage. Complex
carbohydrates are breads, potatoes, all starches and many vegetables
such as beans, corn, carrots, that broccoli, pasta, rice and corn
flakes, to name a few. The complex take a few more processes to go
through to get to the glucose and glycogen stage so your blood sugar
does not go up as fast nor down as fast as with just simple sugars.
