Dear SP,
I have had some discussions
with my consultants about your dilemma. You are correct in thinking that
breast tissue that will produce milk for your babies is genetically
endowed. You may lose some breast fat tissue by working out. You may
make the pectoral muscle behind the breast larger and more prominent by
working those muscles. There are no satisfactory ways to enlarge or
reduce breast sizes but they can be obscured or promoted by what you
wear. Suggest you find a sympathetic, skilled fashion person to help
you. One of my consultants has a friend who had breast reduction and
looks better and feels better even when running. As an orthopaedist I
had a number of patients who complained of serious neck and shoulder
pains which were subsequently helped with breast reduction. It is a
MAJOR operation and this must not be undertaken until you have done all
you can to alleviate the problem yourself. Keep working out and eating
correctly, your goal of 125# sounds fine, but don't go further in an
attempt to reduce your breast tissue. And don't slouch to hide them.
The time it will take to reach
your weight goal is dependent on your diet and genetic metabolism as
well as your workout program so it would be very hard for me to predict.
I hope this discussion will be
helpful. Good luck, George L Dixon MD
