Dear Dr. Dixon,

I just purchased a Bowflex, however, I have not recieved it yet. When I get it can I expect the results they show on TV if I use it say 5 times a week for 30 minutes each time? If I do this with a  combined good diet what kind of results would I see in 4-5 months?

Thanks,

Kevin

Dear Kevin,

You can get those results if you are a TV actor. Actually, I think the Bowflex is a stable piece of well built equipment and should do very well for you. Coupled with a good, low-fat diet and your enthusiasm Bowflex workouts should bring excellent results.  Doing the same thirty minute workout every day will be counterproductive.  I recommend working hard no more often than every other day.  If you inject effective rest (and therefore superconpensation) into your workouts by varying time, intensity and muscle groups you will achieve better results.  I wish you well.

Thanks.
