Actually
bench presses and flies are a good start. Without seeing your
machine and your workout log it is hard for me to comment. However
I will say that you should concentrate first on large muscle groups and
you should also be careful to maintain balance between front and back
and between upper and lower body.
Get a book to go with the home gym. Visit the
coach or trainer at your school who can help you and suggest patterns
and sets to your advantage. Don't neglect aerobic cardiac 2 to 3 times a
week. Strength training is very important, which you already recognize.
