Dear Rob,
Four hours is a long time to dance, dependent somewhat on your age.
If you are young, say under 30 and get painful joints in the cold, you
might discuss cold agglutinins with your doctor. In any event I
would suggest a pair of knee warmers to put on after dancing and take a
couple of Ibuprofen or Aleve at the half-time break.
