Dear Jose,
If your doctor was an Orthopaedic Surgeon
skilled in sporting injuries, it does sound as if you got the right
information. Even if he or she wasn't, it is pretty late to consider
surgical repair. You might check back with your doctor and see if there
are some specific exercises you can do to strengthen the permanently
scarred muscle. The tear scarred it, no surgery would have caused less
scar. The only repairs that are reasonably successful in my hands have
been those of the tendon.
